Teddy Castellucci has
always been involved in breaking down barriers with his music.
He began playing sessions as a guitar player in New York at
the age of 15 and performed on the Merv Griffin Show with
Dizzie Gillespie at 17. By his early twenties, Castellucci was
the youngest musical director in network television history
when he came on board the ABC late night show INTO THE NIGHT
with Rick Dees. At age 21, he became a session player for
motion picture scoring, and his performing talents have been
since heard in films like SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, NATURAL BORN
KILLERS, DYING YOUNG and THE COLOR OF NIGHT. He has played and
arranged on recording sessions for such performers as Michael
Jackson, Paula Abdul, Natalie Cole, Jackson Browne, Brian
Wilson, The O'Jays, Ronnie Milsap and Wynton Marsalis.
Castellucci truly came into
his own as a composer with his scores to THE WEDDING SINGER,
BIG DADDY and DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO all of which
showcased a mastery of the orchestra, a gift for melody and a
special grasp of the emotional effectiveness of music in film.
THE WEDDING SINGER boaster a warm, romantic score for
woodwinds and strings, shaded with classical stylings and
heartfelt guitar solos. In BIG DADDY, Castellucci's busy,
energetic score captured the playful innocence of both main
character and the rambunctious child he's placed in charge of,
while in DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO, his score highlighted a
different side of the composer, combining quirky rhytmic
approach along with the orchestra. Calling upon his record
background as well as his versatile scoring skills, he also
arranged and adapted the many 80's pop songs featured in THE
WEDDING SINGER.
Castellucci is continuing
his successful collaboration with Adam Sandler by scoring the
comedian's upcoming film LITTLE NICKY.
