18/12/06: First teaser trailer of LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD appeared today and the film's oficial website was just started altough you won't find anything besides the teaser. You can download it here in MOV format in three resolutions: small (5,72 MB) - middle (10,45 MB) - high (16,69 MB).

16/12/06: Soundtrack.net informed yesterday that Marco's TNMT score was rejected and Klaus Badelt is currently scoring the film. According to Beltrami (and us all) the whole incident was caused by Weinstein Bros. who considered the film beeing too dark. Actual scoring sessions were due to start this Monday. Beltrami also mentions there are currently no plans to release his score for THE INVISIBLE. The only upcoming project set for release within next year is LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. During 2008 is coming HELLBOY 2, IN THE ELECTRIC MIST WITH CONFEDERATE DEAD and hopefully KNOWING.

27/10/06: Marco and Buck are currently working on pre-records for IN THE ELECTRIC MIST WITH CONFEDERATE DEAD. The shooting of the film starts within a few months and the actual scoring will probably start after Marco finishes LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. THE OMEN DVD includes musical feature spotlight different parts of scoring process from the first musical ideas and their development through recording of the score. The 10-minute feature includes brief interviews with Marco, Buck, director John Moore and the head of Fox music department, Robert Kraft. 27/09/06: First trailer of upcoming supernatural thriller THE INVISIBLE directed by David S. Goyer (Blade: Trinity) is finally available and you can download it here in three resolutions: small (10,50 MB) - middle (19,32 MB) - high (36,81 MB). Release date of the film, produced by Hollywood Pictures (Division of Disney Corporation) is set for January 27th, 2007.

18/09/06: Official website announced today the next upcoming project. There are currently no information about production of IN THE ELECTRIC MIST WITH CONFEDERATE DEAD or its release dates. The film, directed by a french director Bertranda Taverniera (Dartagnan´s daughter), tells the story of detective Dave Robicheaux and his partner investigating several murders of young girls commited during shooting of a Civil war epic in southern Louisiana town of New Iberia -- reawakening the ghosts of a past best left undisturbed. The restless specters wait in the shadows for cajun Dave Robicheaux -- as he hunts a serial butcher who is preying on the less-then-innocent young. For these spirits are the guardians of Robicheaux's darkest torments -- and they hold the key to his ultimate salvation...or a final, fatal downfall.

06/09/06: According to Film Music Radio Marco was confirmed by 20th Century Fox as the composer of upcoming DIE HARD 4 directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld Evolution). In ”Die Hard 4”, which is now entitled ”LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD”, Bruce Willis returns as John McClane. This time, the terrorists uses the internet to shut down the United States. Produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the film begins shooting this month. Also there is finally more news regarding VIKAREN directed by Ole Bornedal. The score (as was already mentioned) is finished and Marco recorded the music in Europe in July. The film features additional music composed by Marcus Trumpp, Bill Boston and Dana Niu. Latino Reviews published very interesting interview with Guillermo del Toro about his future projects including HELLBOY: THE GOLDEN ARMY and HELLBOY 3.  "We definitely have all the regulars – Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman are back. We have two characters from the F world, which are a prince and a princess that we will be casting very soon, but not coming back is John Myers. He's not coming back. Kroenen is back in a very small sort of cameo appearance and Professor Broom, John Hurt, is not back. Evidently Kroenen took care of that. And it's my greatest hope that we do well enough that we can do 'Hellboy III' because that would be very unexpected and a very dramatic finish for that arch. Mike [Mignola], when wrote on two we thought a little bit about where we would go on three which is a little darker than the other two and hopefully we'll get there. It would be Hellboy basically fulfilling the prophecy." You can read the whole interview here.

20/08/06: According to the latest news provided by Buck Sanders, Marco finished his work on Ole Bornedal's upcoming project VIKAREN in July in Copenhagen. He conducted and supervised the score (currently it is unclear if he composed anything for the film or conducted/produced score of another composer). Marco and Buck are still waiting for any photages for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES and they start working on the project during these days. They should also work on currently unspecified project within the next few months. After several months of changing its base, HELLBOY 2 is finally confirmed as in production of Universal and the principal shooting will start in spring 2007 in Hungary. The film is set to be released in the summer 2008.

22/07/06: You can download the first trailer for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES here in resolution - low - middle - high. Added liner notes by Marco and actual film version of Love theme from CURSED ripped from the film with some deleted dialogues. Thanks very much to Nathan Sheffield for sharing this cue. According to the director, Kevin Munroe, Marco is already developing the main theme for Turtles: "Marco Beltrami is doing the score, and they are looking to create a theme for the "Turtles" CG movies, something memorable like the "Batman" theme."

08/06/06: Official website finally presents the clips from THE OMEN score including one unreleased/unused cue. The more important is 25 minutes of music from CAPTIVITY which are also available through official website with 2 photos from the scoring sessions.

18/05/06: Pre-order and tracklist for THE OMEN is finally available on Varese Sarabande website. You can order the CD coming on 6/6 through Varese Sarabande, Colosseum or Intrada. Last end credits piece is a newly aranged suite based on Jerry Goldsmith original score, this "suite" contains : Ave Satani, A Doctor please and Killer Storm.

14/05/06: Buck Sanders confirms today the existence of agency promo of CURSED and that the upcoming Varese edition of THE OMEN soundtrack will include approximatelly 55 minutes of score. Also he mentioned they will be recording THE INVISIBLE score the next Saturday (20th of May) in London, this time at Lyndhust Hall Studios. Stay tune for more information soon.

27/04/06: Soundtrack THE OMEN will be released by Varese Sarabande on 6/6.

23/04/06: Buck Sanders confirms today that the next upcoming projects list will also include an upcoming Ole Bornedal's project VIKAREN. He also provided more details about THE OMEN score, which was recorded by 80-piece The London Symphony Orchestra and 24-member choir. The End Credits suite will feature arangements of Goldsmith original score beginning with short statement of "Ave Satani." Here is the full comment from the luck attender of the sessions: "I did hear the montage sequence for the end credits that features Jerry Goldsmith's music (that was booming out of the 6.1 speakers) and it starts off with a short section of "Ave Satani" and I'm sure that there'll be some grand choral stuff here. Compared to Jerry Goldsmith's rather sparse original score Beltrami's music is very different. It is undoubtedly a Beltrami score and if you enjoyed his more recent scores such as Hellboy then you should like this." The score includes 39 tracks with about 75 minutes of score to be included in the film and some additional alternate cues. The other lucky attender, Dimi from Germany, was able to make few photos during the sessions. 

20/04/06: There are first news floating around the internet about the lucky visitors attending session of Marco Beltrami's score for the John Moore's upcoming remake of THE OMEN. The most interesting news was brought by today's Cinescape: "he is using a choir (and some of the texts written for the old score), but … he is not using any of Jerry's score, although he uses a similar three-note motif that he then develops differently – in fact the music is quite different, but in the end credits he includes an excellent arrangement of Goldsmith's music, which I think is a good way to acknowledge Jerry's work on the first movie and give homage to one of the best scores ever written.” This is the first time Marco has ever used the choir with lyrics. Also there is new international teaser that you can download here (14,6 MB) or is available on the film's official website. 25/03/06: Buck Sanders confirmed today that THE OMEN 666 score is almost finished and will be recorded in April in London's Abbey Road Studios. The score is based mostly orchestral with some manipulations of accustic elements and choir - it is unknown if the choir will be based on a text or wordless. Also he mentioned that THE INVISIBLE score will be recorded in May and incorporates mostly string orchestra, electric guitar and pianos. THE OMEN 666 as well as THE INVISIBLE will contain approximatelly an hour of score.

Marco Beltrami confirms today that his The Future, which was supposed to accompany the finale of the film was not used in the film that contains Paul Haslinger's Eternity and a Day from the first film. 02/02/06: Marco is currently working on David S. Goyer's THE INVISIBLE. CAPTIVITY is still based only on 3 electronicaly modulated pianos. You can also check the first teaser trailer of THE OMEN 666 and thanks to Melancthe you can also watch short documentary about xXx: State of the union, which is contained on every DVD edtion I know of as a part of Making of documentary.

29/01/06: Here it the first pre-order of UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION score, which will be available for shipping on 21th of February 2006. Melancthe sent a couple of new photos. First two are from autogramiad of Marco and director Tommy Lee Jones, which was held on 26th of January in Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center in New York. The following photo is from the Making Of documentary xXx 2 and the rest is from ASCAP Awards 2004 (April 27th, 2005) in Beverly Hilton, where Marco received an award for I, ROBOT. Added posters of OMEN 666 and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.

13/01/06: The first shot of new Damien Thorn from OMEN 666. On Ebay there is floating FYC promo THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA that contains 4 more tracks than the regular release. The discography page will be updated as soon as it will be found it if these are really new tracks and not only divided longer cues from regular release to the shorter cues on the promo edition. The promo edition contains only Marco's score and no songs and some score tracks are presented under different names. Tosheff Piano Duo website includes a fotography, and short video from recording of Marco's concert piece Classical Piece for Two Pianos finished in 2003. 

03/01/06: Eric Craig from Lakeshore Entertainment confirmed today, that original score release of UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION should be released during February 2006. The song compilation is available on the same label since January 13th, 2006. The date of the release of score edtion was not confirmed yet. Update of audio section. 

24/12/05: Marco mentions today the first details about his score for Roland Joffé's thriller CAPTIVITY. The score is based on 3 pianos using nontraditional playing techniques and electronic modulations of their sound. It is currently unknow if the score will include some more traditional instruments as well. 

15/12/05: Rudy Kopple's photos from THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA sessions are available on the official website of the composer. The interview with Marco and director Tommy Lee Jones will be included in the next Music from the Movies issue. The others new features of oficial website include 4 clips from UNDERWORLD EVOLUTION (12 minutes) and 3 clips from THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA (5 minutes), also there are included conductor's full scores for Flight of the Phoenix, I, Robot, xXx: State of the Union a Hellboy.

14/12/05: Oficiální stránky jsou zpět online v nové grafické podobě.  10/12/05: Buck Sanders dnes zmínil další projekt, na kterém s Marcem momentálně pracují. Thriller CAPTIVITY pojednává o modelce, která je spolu se svým řidičem unesena sériovým vrahem. Zatímco je oba trýzní uzavřené ve značně ztísněném prostoru, postupně se do sebe zamilují a sbírají síly ke společnému boji se svým únoscem. I když film se na první pohled může jevit značně pochybně, jména režiséra Rolanda Joffého (Mise, Vražedná pole) a scénáristy Larryho Cohena (Telefoní budka) mají za sebou již vcelku vysokou reputaci.  Další  novinkou  je  i  první  zmínka  o  orchestrálním   soundtracku

UNDERWORLD:EVOLUTION: "I do believe a score album is coming out. Right now it looks like an hour long CD. It should be released around the time of the film." Underworld 2 vyráží do kin 20. ledna 2006. Spuštěna zkušební verze audio sekce a na závěr krátký text o HELLBOY 2.

05/12/05: Tracklist evropského vydání soundtracku THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA. Na francouzském amazonu se již objevila možnost objednávky soundtracku a zároveň jsou k dispozici i krátké ukázky z každého tracku...

04/12/05: Podle této stránky by měl ve Francii vyjít Melquiades soundtrack 31. ledna 2006 u začínajícího vydavatelství Recall Music for Films. Žádné blizší informace nejsou dosud známy. Pravděpodobně dojde i na americký release, který by měl vyjít ve stejné době u Sony Classical. 

02/12/05: Doplněny první verze plakátu OMEN 666 a první obrázek z THE INVISIBLE, které by mělo být uvedeno v únoru na německém Berlinale a následně i v celonárodní distribuci. Doufejme, že však prodleva mezi oběma uvedeními bude podstatně menší než v případně Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada... Rovněž co nevidět bude nahozena i audio sekce, ze které je zde alespon první ukázka - RED EYE: End Credits - (6:54; 8,29 MB; 160 kbps). Bohužel se jedná o pouhý rip z ruského kinoripu, čemuž odpovídá nepříliš vysoká zvuková kvalita. S vydáním filmu na DVD bude zpřístupněna kvalitnější verze. 

19/11/05: Na stránkách Marcovy agentury Greenspan Artist Management se objevily zajímavé novinky mezi kterými nechybí dvě kompletní skladby ze soundtracku THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA. Ještě příjemnějším bonusem je i videointerview s Marcem a Tommy Lee Jonesem ohledně soundtracku k danému snímku. V rámci přibližně 8 minutového dokumentu nechybí ani několik zákulisních záběrů z Marcova studia a sekvence o využití kaktusů jako perkusí. :-) Video je dostupné ve dvou formátech mov a wmv. MP3 jsou v kvalitě 160 kbps. P.S.: Podle aktuálního distribučního plánu Hollywood Classic Entertainment by měl do našich kin Melquiades Estrada docválat v dubnu 2006.

09/11/05: Sice se zpožděním ale přece - trailer UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION ke stažení. Možná jste si všimli, že oficiální stránky byly posledních pár dní mimo provoz, Buck Sanders dnes potvrdil, že jsou stránky momentálně re-designovány a snad co nevidět by se měla objevit jejich nová verze.

Současně i zmínil, že finální rozsah orchestru nahrávajícího UW:E čítá vcelku střídmých 50 hračů, pakliže se má ale jednat o score gotické, je menší ansámbl nástrojů zcela na místě. Nahrávání se nezúčastňuje ani pěvecký sbor, který by mohl podpořit orchestrální spektrum, dozajista ale budou mít klíčovou roli speciální samplované efekty. Další zajímavou novinkou je i zmíněné vydání OST THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA. Film bude uveden na vánoce, aby se mohl ucházet o sošky pozlacených plešounů za tento rok, a do celonárodní distribuce vstoupí v únoru 2006. V té době zřejmě také vyjde i soundtrack, který by měl obsahovat přibližně 20 minut písniček a zbytek bude tvořen orchestrální hudbou. Sami si zkuste vyložit přesný význam věty: "We mastered it a few weeks ago and it's about 1/2 of score with about 20 minutes of songs." Vzhledem k délce vydání Sony Classical by se dalo předpokládat, že by mělo jít o polovinu z nahrané hudby (rozsah nahrávky bohužel není znám) a 20 minut písniček zaokrouhlujících celkovou délku alba na u Sony Classical průměrných 60 minut. Uvidíme/uslyšíme v únoru. :)

27/10/05: První trailer UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION je k dispozici (pouze však jako stream video ve formátu Windows Media a Quicktime) zde. Film bude snad již s definitivní platností uveden ve Spojených státech 20. ledna 2006.

13/10/05: Na stránkách webmastera Soundtrack.net Daniela Goldwassera se objevilo pár starších fotek z nahrávání FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX ze dne 9. října 2004 a jedna z předávání cen ASCAP za rok 2004, jenž se konalo 27. dubna 2005 v hotelu Beverly Hilton. Zde jsou rovněž dostupná dvě velmi krátká videa s Marcem. 

   
11/10/05: Marco dnes potvrdil svou účas na plánovaném snímku Alexe Proyase KNOWING: "He (Proyas) asked me to score it and the script is great so I'm really looking forward to it." Současně zmínil, že MELQUIADES ESTRADA by měl vyjít na CD okolo uvedení snímku do kin (pravděpodobně na americké půdě, takže si na disk ještě nějaký ten měsíc počkáme) u společnosti Sony Classical. A do třetice zmínil, že i když o soundtracku pro OMEN 666 ještě nezačal ani uvažovat, rád by prostřednictvím své práce vzdal hold Jerrymu Goldsmithovi. 

09/10/05: Doplněn plakát THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA. Před pár dny byly konečně spuštěny oficiální stránky ve Francouzštině, které kromě krátké a neobjevné Beltramiho minibiografie nabízejí možnost poslechu cca 15 vteřinové ukázky z Beltramiho hudby! Současně se konečně objevuje první trailer, ukazující že se blíží jedna ze skutečně velkých filmových událostí tohoto roku. Trailer však v tuto chvíli dosud není dostupný ke stažení. Aby nebyly jen samé dobré zprávy, tak navzdory oscarovým ambicím snímku byla americká premiéra odsunuta až na 3. února 2006, pokud se však nic nezmění, měl by být film uveden nejprve v Evropě (v listopadu již v Polsku, Francii a Belgii) a teprve se zpožděním ve Spojených státech. Plakát ve větším rozlišení a několik dalších fotografií z filmu je dostupných zde.

06/10/05: Díky Magnificatovi za doplnění dalších informací ohledně UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION. Podle vyjádření Marca by mělo nahrávání přibližně 85 minut hudby, které pro film složil začít 7. listopadu. Současně i rozptýlil pochybnosti o jeho další spolupráci s Ole Bornedalem, ke které ani u snímku Vikaren nedojde. Na Music from the Movies se dnes objevil další budoucí projekt THE INVISIBLE, který by měl být pod režijním vedením Davida S. Goyera (Blade: Trinity) uveden (stejně jako Underworld 2) začátkem příštího roku.

27/09/05: Od Bucka Sanderse první informace ohledně několika budoucích plánů. UNDERWORLD 2 score by mělo dosahovat délky přibližně 80 minut a nahrávání by mělo probíhat první týden v listopadu s 65 členným orchestrem. Jak je obvyklé, nebude chybět ani elektronická linka a Buck Sanders score popisuje slovy: "Gotické a epické s množstvím akční hudby." Současně zmiňuje vůbec poprvé i následující projekt, do kterého by se měli následně pustit po dokončení Underworldu a začátkem práce na OMEN 666. Jedná se o počítačově animovanou podobu kultovního seriálu TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, jejichž celovečerní verze by měla do světových kin vtrhnout až v roce 2007: "Vypadá to jako velká zábava. Navíc jsou fanoušky soundtracku Hellboye a chtějí velké orchestrální score a zdá se, že podporují experimentování."  Současně i potvrzuje, že po roce se konečně dočkáme oficiálního vydání Beltramiho práce na CD - THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA.

05/08/05: Buck Sanders dnes potvrdil začátek práce na soundtracku pro UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION. Současně komentoval i svou účast na RED EYE a THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA. "Právě s Underworldem začínáme. Akorát začínám připravovat zvuky - strašidelné efekty pro úpíry a vlkodlaky. Příliš jsem toho na RED EYE neudělal, byl jsem více zaměřený na THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA a vzal si na čas volno, abych mohl navštívit rodinu. MELQUIADES ESTRADA je velmi pěkný, vynalézavý a tématický."
